Biodegradation Solutions To Expand Plastic Circularity

Our technology enables plastic to naturally biodegrade in landfill, soil and ocean environments, without impacting recyclability and without leaving behind microplastics or toxic residues.

Accelerating the Circularity of Plastic

Biodegradability is the ability of a substance to be broken down naturally by microorganisms into simpler, non-toxic substances like water, biogas, fatty acids, and cellular biomass. While plastic can technically biodegrade in nature, the process is extremely slow, often taking hundreds to thousands of years.
How our technology works?
Our masterbatch additive, EcoPure®, is designed to enhance and accelerate this natural degradation process. It creates an energy source for microbes and causes them to colonize the surface of the plastic and form a biofilm. As the biofilm develops, the microbes regulate their pH levels and begin quorum sensing, which triggers the release of natural enzymes that break down the polymer carbon chains. The plastic is ultimately converted into cellular biomass, carbon, water, and biogas.

Why use EcoPure®?
Our partners incorporate EcoPure® into their plastic products to support their sustainability goals, enhance product circularity beyond traditional recycling, and reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste and microplastics.
