ECOPURE® MAKES BIODEGRADABILITY A FEATURE OF A WIDE RANGE OF PRODUCTS.

FOOD PACKAGING
AdTerix works with food brands to create packaging that is both recyclable and biodegradable. EcoPure® is food safe and can therefore integrated into rigid packaging materials like PET, rPET, PP, PS, and PE, as well as into flexible and multilayer films.

Recently, we launched an LDPE film designed to biodegrade in compost, landfill, and marine environments, further advancing our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of packaging waste.
DIAPERS & BABY WIPES
Diapers and baby wipes are typically disposed of in landfills. With no viable options for recycling or composting their environmental impact is substantial, where they can take over 500 years to break down. To address this, AdTerix has partnered with a leading diaper brand to create products that are fully biodegradable.

Recent lab testing demonstrated that when just 1% EcoPure® is combined the super absorbent polymer used in diapers, the absorbent polymers biodegraded by 64% in just 180 days!
FOOTWEAR & APPAREL
Synthetic fabrics and footwear are significant sources of microplastics throughout their lifecycle. Once discarded, these products are often not recyclable and end up in landfills, contributing to long-lasting plastic pollution.

To reduce the environmental impact of waste from clothing, sports apparel, and sneakers, EcoPure® can be infused into polyester and nylon threads, as well as in the EVA, PU, and rubber materials used in footwear. This accelerates biodegradation, offering a more sustainable solution to these pervasive waste streams.
MEDICAL DEVICES & PACKAGING
The healthcare sector generates vast amounts of plastic waste that ends up in landfills every day. In the United States, healthcare facilities generate 3,500 tons of plastic waste a day. Masks, gloves, gowns, and various other medical disposables are not recyclable and are destined for landfill after use.

To help address this issue, AdTerix partners with device manufacturers to create medical devices that biodegrade in landfills and anaerobic digester, reducing their long-term environmental impact. For example, nitrile gloves infused with EcoPure® biodegraded 55% on the first 315 days of testing under ASTM D5511 conditions.
EYEWEAR
As part of its commitment to designing circular products, a leading eyewear manufacturer pioneered the use of EcoPure® in all of its plastics including in nylon and polyester frames, polycarbonate lenses, and the protective films and bags used throughout the supply chain.

AdTerix is developing biodegradable polypropylene contact lens packaging and is further seeking to make the cellulose acetate used for high-quality designer frames.
